I have an account on youtube and I make videos. It's my hobby, nobody gets paid and I just do it for laughs. I recently discovered your site and used some of the sounds in my latest video.
I did address every person I took a sample from in the video description and I did send a private message / comment to that every person informing them about my project, giving them a link etc.
Is that still illegal?
Everything on this site has the creative common licence, so you are in the legal clear as long as you a) are not making any money off the recording that you're sampling (which, since you're on YouTube, you're not) and b) you give the people who's clips you used credit.
So, if you give credit in the video notes, you'll be fine.
I too make videos on Youtube. Am I understanding the usage policy correctly? If I add any one of the sounds from "Freesound.com" hence, the word "free" I am sure. And I have adsense on my youtube channel, I am still legally obedient, correct?
Thank you for your time.

There are different degrees of "free": different freesound licences ...

http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/
I wouldn't use any sounds which have a non-commercial license in a commercial project if I were you.
So, if I have some videos with ADSENCE, (activated), and I'm using sounds from free sounds it's illegal?
And if I'm not selling the samples, but I'm selling a song that I made with some of the freesound's samples, and another samples, it's illegal too?
