I am making a small freeware game, and I found freesound.org to be a wonderful source of sound effects to use in the project. I plan for this game to be downloadable for free when it is finished.
My question is along the lines of, is it safe to use the sounds if I credit the uploaders either with a credits screen in the game listing sound attribution, or with the same information in a text file included with the .exe? Or both? The sounds I plan to use make use of the Creative Commons Attribution license and the Creative Commons 0 license.
I don't want to disrespect the creators of the sounds and I don't want into get in trouble after I release the game for download to the public. I do NOT plan to sell the game. Can anyone set me straight?
