How to report copyright infringement to YouTube , the quick way

1. log in to a YouTube / Gmail account.
2. go to ... http://www.youtube.com/yt/copyright/copyright-complaint.html
3. Click on the "Submit a copyright complaint" button.
4. Complete the form which appears: I found you can get away with filling some fields with "N/A" ...

Completing some of the form fields with "N/A" worked for me, e.g. I did not give YouTube my telephone number for them to take down the YouTube video which which entirely consisted of my Freesound which had been used without attribution, ( I had given the sound an attribution licence on Freesound ).

If you have given your Freesound an attribution license and someone has reproduced it without fully complying with the creative commons attribution license, (summary below), they have infringed your copyright and you can make a complaint to the website hosting the copy of your sound , ( who will hopefully remove it from their site ).

a. ... You must include a copy of, or the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) for, this License with every copy of the Work You Distribute ...
b(i) ...the name of the Original Author (or pseudonym, if applicable) if supplied
b(ii) ... the title of the Work if supplied
b(iii) ... the URI, if any, that Licensor specifies to be associated with the Work

If you do succeed in having a infringing file taken down please add a post to this thread with the details to encourage others to do the same
