my english is bad.
sorry
so my question:
i made a cartoon for youtube and i will upload it in the next weeks.
i used many good sounds from freesound. is it ok if i put just fressound in the
credits but i make a link for each soun in the description??
i got 3 minutes and maybe 30 sound looks a litttle bit strange when the credits are longer then the video...
Hello there!
Yes that is absolutely fine to add the attribution/credits in the video description.
As long as it's visible somewhere in conjunction with the material, you won't have any problems.
Hope this helps
I recommend including full attribution for each sound. Note that some of the sounds here are under licenses, which prohibit commercial use.
This tool might help you generate attribution for the youtube description.

I highly recommend to include at least the short list of names (see bottom of the results page) in the video text credits.

It is not a prerequisite though to include within video credits.

CC-BY 3.0 ( http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/legalcode ) states that credits need to be provided "reasonable to the medium". In-video credits can be considered reasonable to the medium of film and video.

You're right, however you have to take into account the destination intended for the video.
I gave advice considering this factor. If it was broadcast on television or released as a feature film then scrolling video credits would be more suitable, 'reasonable to the medium' and arguably necessary; in which case it is advisable.
Although it is good practise to include video credits as opposed to external text based - it is totally acceptable in this particular scenario which is why I advised so. I haven't overlooked the case of sounds published as CC BY-NC-ND - but this is a different matter really.
Sorry, I was wrong to quote "reasonable to the medium", as it appears to refer to the extent of the credits and not the placement. Instead, apparently the following passage refers to placement: "The credit [...] may be implemented in any reasonable manner" - I think this sounds even more lax.
Still, I recommend both in-video and description credits.

I think we can both agree it is reasonable to recommend this type of credit method. As I said, it makes good practice for amateur video publishers in any case.
That's correct - BY-NC-ND was a hypothetical example of the strictest licence available in CC.
👍
thanks for all the posts. each sound comes now in the credits again with the sound name and sound artist. now the credits nearly as long like the cartoon. but its ok. to do that i needed 3hours i got nearly 30 sounds in 3minutes movie. now the movie is 5 minutes long.
i think the sound artists are very happy with that.
when i upload my video and some sound people leike my videos maybe some of you like to make specially sounds for me...

I suggest if you would like to request this to the community, you should create another thread in the 'sample requests' subdirectory of the forum: http://www.freesound.org/forum/sample-requests
