Who can I contact to get permission to use sound effects from this site in our church dramas? We average less than two hundred people per service and it is closer to one hundred.

If you want to just use sounds without crediting the authors then use the ones under the "Creative Commons Licenses", I hope this helped.

There are different types of Creative Commons license ... http://www.freesound.org/help/faq/#licenses

some require attribution (aka a credit) ...

If you want to use a sound without crediting, and without having to obtain additional consent, use sounds which have a CC0 license ... http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/

If the play has a webpage you could credit attribution-licensed sound there.
If there is a printed-program include a URI to that webpage on it,
(if there is not space on the printed programme to credit all the sound creators there).

An alternative option here is to come to arrangement with the sound creator.

eg.

The people at your church service do not want to see;

I have came to arrangements in the past that people may use some sounds with no attribution this has only been after they have contacted me .

It gives me something to put on my portfolio, Which alot of freesounders are working on and at the same time lets you leave it out of the extra's

May I add that this is a personal thing and many people may not want to go down this route , this is just one way i have found that can make sure both parties are happy.

For example , You could contact everyone who's sounds have used, ask them if its ok to use these particular dates,

They get to plop a little yellow star on their homework , and you have to credit freesound.com on the whole.

I state again though , you must ask if this is ok first.
