Here are my questions:
1. The thing is this, can the audio contributors change these licenses later? As in suddenly changing any license to noncommercial version? Or can they go copyrighted these sounds later?
2. If I have created a freeware game first, then I decided that I am going to create a sequel as a commercial project, unlike the first noncommercial freeware; will this complicate legal matters, or each project is of each of their own separate world? Am I ok with noncommercial attribution sound in the first project in this case?
3. Regarding complication in sampling+ license (which is now going retired as stated in the FAQ), what would be the successor license? I see that the site convinced audio contributors to change the retired license, so what would be the successor license?
1. The license that applies to you is the license at the time you downloaded the sound. Licenses can be changed by sound creators, but not retrospectively - if you previously downloaded the sound then the prior license applies to you. Licenses can't be changed retrospectively or revoked for people who are already using the sound.
2. Each game can be considered as its own separate world. As long as the first remains free, you'll be OK with NC sounds.
3. Sampling+ license is being retired from freesound, but it still exists on many sounds. So if you download a sampling+ sound then that license applies, regardless of whether the user updates the license later.
