I have good reason to believe that someone uploaded a distasteful file without my consent. How can I find out who is responsible, so I can kindly ask for it to be removed?

Distasteful? You mean you simply do not like the file?

The sound file was moderated before being allowed to be shown publicly. I'm certain it wouldn't pass the mods if there was any objectionable content in it.

Do you own the respective rights to the sound?

Can you point us to the audio in question, it might help the situation out a bit.
