Hi Everyone,
I'm working on my first CGI short for a film festival. This is more about getting myself out there ... there's no cash prize involved so far as I can figure. Most of the sound is from this site, and having checked each contributer's status (it's nice the way exact sounds come up through entering the numbers!) they fall into 4 categories:
Attribution
CC 0 License
Attribution Non - commercial
Sampling + License
Now my plan is this. On the credits I've got "Sound FX courtesy of Freesound.org contributers ..." and on the next screen I plan to put all the contributer's names. Far from being a hassle, I'm extremely grateful for the sounds / to the individual people who've shared their stuff with me.
This sound okay?
Thanks,
Tony.
Hi Tony
Thanks for your consideration for the community. What you just described sounds like very decent attribution to me.
If you plan on making money, then obviously the CC-BY-NC (non-commercial) licenses will take effect. So perhaps send the user's a message if you plan on earning from your work in the future. But this is doubtful as you've described; everything should be fine.
Cheers
p.s. we would love to see the film, so when you're allowed to publish the works, please do come back and post us a link.
