Do I need to attribute somebody who's sound is using the sampling+ license if they do not tell me how to attribute them? I know this sounds like a dumb question as it says right there on the license page I have to attribute them but it also says "in the manner specified".
I'm really asking because there's two sound effects I have that I have in my songs ready for commercial release, and while I know I got the sounds from here, I cannot for the life of me find them again to credit the owners. They're also not in my recently downloaded files.
I do know the sounds were under the Sampling+ license, but that's the extent. Some help would be awesome.
Hey Klink45
Sorry this is late, but better than never I guess
The Sampling+ license is defunct now as part of the available CC licenses. It's good practice to treat S+ licenses as if they were Attribution (CC-BY) so don't worry about the author's own specification.
If you can't find the author and source of these sounds you used then there's not really much you can do about it. Considering that S+ license is discontinued, it practically makes the license redundant. However, if you can find the sounds in their original form, it might be that they are re-published with an updated license. But here's where it gets tricky, because the license that was applied at the time of you obtaining the file still applies to the file no matter how many times they changed the license since then.
Try have a search.
Hope this helps
