OK so i shoot Youtube Videos. Few in any of the hundreds of videos I have uploaded to would have needed anything from this site, but now I find myself shooting a video (it is based on wheelchair width and how people shovel their sidewalk) and I an think if I can find some oohs and ah sounds here, I would be able to use them in certain parts of the flick. Now understand, I plan to, if the weather agrees to get a good 30 hours of Video, to make a 4 or 5 minute voice over flick. I would credit the sound creators the proper way, but should I
a) do it in the credits at the end of the clip
b) post it the Video Description on the video Sharing sites I am on
C) all of the above.
A little more information, I am making this as a Public Service Announcement Video, so I plan to send it to our local newspapers, our city and the local Police site.
As an very experienced Video Editor, I use Sony Vegas Pro on Windows side and KDenlive on the Linux side of my Computer.
When I make it, I will revisit this post and post a link to the Youtube page, where I will post it as Unlisted.
How you credit is really up to you: either in the end credits or in the description (whichever you find works best) or through any other method, just as long as you do give the appropriate credit:
-Name of the sound
-Author's name
-Website name
-Link to the sound if possible
E.g. One way to write it:
"Wind, Synthesized, A.wav" by InspectorJ of Freesound.org
http://www.freesound.org/people/InspectorJ/sounds/376415/
Or if the author suggests another way, you could use that.
Ultimately, as long as there is some form of credit, you should be good - I would hazard a guess that, for the majority of users, the thought of crediting won't even cross their mind - so you're already doing good.
I usually does at the end of the clip, but sometimes it I share it on social media I just write on the post...
