Hi
I create music and sell it on the Internet stock.
Can I use samples from Freesound.org in my work?
Is there a simple answer? Like "yes" or "no"?
I have bad English and I was tangled in the licenses, attribution, etc.
If "no", then it at least once eliminate the need to understand the details.
Thanks in advance!
The answer is YES
BUT... it's not that simple. You need to check the license of each sound you want to download and use. Some require attribution (credits towards the creator(s) of the sound).
If you are confused about the licenses from the FAQ, I made a really easy to digest table of licenses and what the conditions are. You can see my post here: https://www.freesound.org/forum/legal-help-and-attribution-questions/38292/?page=1#post84692
If you just download CC-Zero licensed sounds, then you never have to worry about giving credit. You can use these sounds as much as you want and even sell music with these samples as part of your project.
As a tip: when you are searching for a sound, on the right hand side of the page will be filters you can select and choose to display only sound of those types. This search for example:https://www.freesound.org/search/?q=bassline&f=license%3A%22Creative+Commons+0%22&s=score+desc&advanced=0&g=1
Notice I selected "CC0" as the licence. Now it will only display sounds that are free to use without credit. All the other license types require credits. You can see the license next to the preview:
