Hi everyone !
Just happened something interesting, a guy lets me that comment about one of my sounds :
"I will use it actually my friend inside my work where I 'm needing it , I 'm not gonna do care to the License !
Please Forgive Me ."
The sound is just under the Attribution License, so he just doesn't want to credit me. It's not the first time, but now he's showing publicly a very bad example for everyone else.
The pseudonym is ideen. I absolutly don't know what he/she wants to do with my work, but be careful, he/she could do the same with yours.
How can I report him/her ? Do I just use the button "Report Spam" ?
Thank you.
Nothing really can be done (unless you want to take him to court of course!)
You can delete the comment off of your sound if you think it might be a bad influence on other people viewing that sound, although I would take a screenshot of it before you do just in case you ever need it again for whatever purpose.
This fellow in particular just seems to be learning towards the more negative side of personality, and well there's little we can do about that except ignore.
At the end of the day, I would hazard a guess and say that at least 50% of users never follow the license, let alone even know that a license exists on these sounds (as frustrating as that can appear - I know from experiences with my own sounds! - I've just accepted it as the universal lack of education on common legal stuff in schools/or just poor public knowledge/or just fundamental human laziness).
Hopefully that user will have the common sense to stop wasting his and our time on leaving needless comments such as that.
Hope that helps!
(And a side note; as far as I know, replying to user's comments in your sound's comment section doesn't notify the other user that you've replied to his comment. I usually drop them a private message instead.)
Thank you for the answer, you confirm what I think :/
It would be nice if there was a pop up meaning something like "Don't forget to respect copyrights : This sound is under Attribution License" (for example) when you download a sound.
I know there will be some people to do not respect that, but the license will be more apparent.
I hope so he won't waste his and our time.
His behavior seriously harms our community, I love making free sounds, but if I read this kind of comments, I would eventually stop

Never let one negative comment drown out the many positive comments.
Keep those awesome sounds coming!

stop making sounds all together or just stop uploading it to this site? you should never be pressured by anyone to stop doing something you enjoy doing, if its the latter, then just listen to the majority not the minority, if everyone on this site gave you that attitude then i think its justifiable to not upload on this site, but even if that was the case (which its not) you shouldn't discontinue doing what you enjoy doing.
You can easily circumvent this problem by using the license typ with the most freedom in it, so you don't have to be named.
I can completly understand that some people don't want to have the youtube description box full of links to the owner of the sounds, or have 20 seconds of credits running only for used sounds on freesound.
This is the main reason i'm licensing my audiofiles with creative commons 0.
"At the end of the day, I would hazard a guess and say that at least 50% of users never follow the license" <- I would say the number is higher than 50%
