Non-commercial sound for YouTube Chanel question
Hi there, I've downloaded a sound which is under Non-commercial licence
When I use it as a YouTube Chanel intro, what should I do?
Do I need to put a link and author name every time?
Thank yuou
Simply, the answer is yes.
The Non-Commercial license means that you must give credit/attribution to the original creator in every project that you use that sound within. At the same time, as it is a 'non-commercial' license, you aren't allowed to monetize the videos either or make profit from them.
You can read more about this license here: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/
You can, of course, message the creator of the sound and ask him personally if you can monetize your videos or to ask any other questions about how you should credit his sound. You can try messaging him here, or on his website or facebook page (link to it is on his profile page).
Most of the time, the creator will be very flexible and may let you use the sound in commercial projects, though perhaps with some restrictions or requirements first.
Hope that helps!
