I was curious about uploading a 15 minute or so mix of sounds. Isn't really a complete song but a combination of what I have made all in one. Essentially just a music mix. I see people here including myself upload loops and short musical loops but what if its a combination of sounds/loops all in one. Not representing a full song ofcourse. Just wanted to know if I have the green light to do a song mix upload to freesound with the loop flag points so incase anyone wants just that part of the sound it'll be attached to the .wav file and can be opened and cut in just about any wave editing program.
I understand that when reading the rules about uploading here it states.
"Sounds only
Freesound is for sounds only. Self-created music fragments/samples/loops are also ok, but not complete songs or compositions".
Where the word "compositions" has me confused. Its a composition of random music loops I have created. The sound will be about 15 minutes long and will include Drums/Piano and synths.
The file I want to upload will be less than 500mb.
I want to respect Freesound.org and its moderators and do not wish to abuse the privileges that I have been given. Thanks.
Jordan.
Hello Jordan / Erokia
Thanks for asking.
It is an interesting idea, and one that I don't remember seeing here before.
In the sense that it is an 'experimental' piece, that in itself makes it potentially an interesting addition.
What we really don't want is people coming here to upload their music productions.
This piece would be kind of a showpiece of several loops used together. You are proposing to give the loop points (very good idea) which makes it useful for others for creative purposes.
Maybe you will want to upload some of the original loops too? - to encourage further creative use.
I think this would be fine. Please go ahead!
I want to ask something similar, but this is the situation, I download some sounds and make a Mix with the intention to do an atmosphere, in the description I always put the credits and the url of the original Sound...
I never do it with the intention of publishing it outside freesound.org, the intention is, i want that the people perceive environmental atmospheres with the same sounds they upload, that is, demostrate that the sound is not only one, but that the mixture of several sounds generate a new sound that transports the mind to places and unimaginable moments.
What I do violates the rules of the web?

Sorry, somehow I had not seen this post. Apologies for the late reply.
Lets say, for the sake of argument, that you are taking recordings of sea waves, sea lgulls, people and cars. You are creating a mix of these sounds to create a fake ambiance recording, recreating a street on a seaside town.
You can upload your sound to Freesound.
Please include in the description links to the original sounds from Freesound that you have used.
To be in accordance with the sounds licenses, you must give your sound the same license as the most restrictive license of the sounds used.
So, for example:
You can only make your sound license Creative Commons 0, if all the sounds you used have this license.
If at least one of the sounds has Attribution, you must use that license.
And if at least one of the dounds has Attribution Non-Commercial, yhen you have to use that one.
Hope this clarifies...
