I want to record my devices doing normal day to day tasks, such as reading discs, no audio from the television nor the UI sounds will be recorded. can i do this?
Sound fine to me. You're allowed to do this.
As a rule of thumb if the sound was created by a person and played to you through some sort of listening medium (like a speaker) then it's most probably copyrighted.
Any mechanical sound that a thing makes and you record it, that belongs to you.
I say that record. It's your recording. If it's not legal, then Freesound must remove all CD- and DVD-player opening and closing sounds.
