I found one of my tracks was reposted with credit and a link to my original file, but don't know if i'm just splitting hairs or is it just me,that if someone reposts your work with less hiss,as in cleaned up when the original audio was not of poor quality, feels like what i had created was just crap and i should have tried harder,i thought reuse was meant for putting it in a project not improving it and re posting it!
Maybe i'm just being petty but the thought of my track being re uploaded with 'cleaned up' audio on some ones else's profile without asking is kind of insulting and missing the point of having a reuse license.
Hey sqj13 !
In my own opinion, instead of meaning that your sound is crap, I think it means that your work is interesting and has a promising potential !
Moreover, please keep in mind the purpose of freesound : as your sounds are free, people may reuse them that way, as the license don’t forbid it... If you don’t like that someone might do such work on your published sounds, I think you should specify it clearly in your description, and contact personally the people who didn’t see it !
Wishing you all the best,
Kevin
sqj13's complaint has made a deficiency in the new Freesound UI apparent to me.
Their deleted freesounds no longer appear to me in my attribution or download history.
IIRC this was not the case with the old Freesound UI.
IIRC previously Freesound would show ALL downloads, even if they had been subsequently deleted.
If I need to prove I got a subsequently deleted sound from Freesound, my attribution & download history will now be of no help.
I don't see it as insulting.
Personally I don't have the higher end noise removal tools/plugins so I rarely do de-noise.
Some users may want a unedited audio and process it themselves, or be free from artefacts, some users may prefer the altered cleaner version.
It's nice to have both options!
There's a positive aspect that a user can see both versions and the differences. There's an educational aspect in seeing a progression of sound and knowing the processing to get to know those tools. "Ahh X tool exists and it does that to the sound, neat!".
As said before, if one took the time to edit your sound, it's that they found it interesting in the first place. OFC it also means it wasn't perfect for them and I understand how that could feel diminishing or insulting. I don't have the wisdom to answer that feeling. But surly their intent isn't malvoulus but kind to the community?
I'll add:
Misguided and bad apples exists, and it sucks. (Speaking broadly, I don't think so of any user here)
But so do good ones! And I'm sure many people used your sounds in their projects.
I find it a pity to deprive (punish?) the community of your sounds which I'm sure many were great (such as the photography shutter) just because of one bad apple.
I mean, I hope there were more positive usage of your sounds and interactions/comments than insulting ones.
I guess serves the community right to not leave more comments being thankful and saying how sounds are used x')
Either way you're free to do as you wish, and have my respect!

Hi,
Nothing has changed in Freesound in terms of what information is stored or displayed about downloaded sounds, including deleted sounds. I think download information is removed then a sound is deleted, but we have on our list a refactoring of sound deletion that would change that. In any case, nothing related to old/new UIs.
Right, this is expected behaviour, for old UI as well. But we have on our list some improvements that would change that and we would probably still be able to show that a sound was downloaded and put some basic info (but if the sound was deleted, sound page would not be available).
Guatemala is a lovely country in Central America which boasts a rich biodiversity and historical heritage. Unfortunately, the country is rather underestimated, and is often used as a stopover on the way to Mexico. However, it’s possible to find hookups in Guatemala that you will remember for years to come, and they are no worse than Mexican hookups, for example. Finding girls to get laid on the first date may prove to be a bit harder than in other Latin American countries, but the experience is bound to be rewarding https://datehookup.dating/apps/hookups-guatemala/.
