Ok the reason i joined up is to get sounds to put in my lego stop motin vids.
can i? i mean is it legal to put sounds from here into my stop motion vids?
Hi TheWebsterD
The answer is YES.
However, you need to credit the creators of the samples you use in your movies.
Some wording in the final credits like "in this movie all the sound effects came from www.freesound.org. I would like to credit Freesounduser1, Freesounduser2, ... etc"
Also, would be great if you could post a link on the freesound forums. People enjoy having a look/listen to works created with the sounds they have uploaded.
Finally, if you are looking for a particular effect and can't find exactly what you need, you can put out a sample request in the appropriate forum. People here are nice and will help if they can.
Good luck with your movies.
So could i do....
All sound effects in this movie came from www.freesound.org
thanks

Stop wriggling, but you could ask each creator for use without attribution if you feel you must.

downloading is free but you need to sign up (create an account).
As you are posting in the forum, you have already done that.
First, log in with your user name and password.
You can search the database using key words (e.g., "gunshot" and you will get a screen with a list of samples matching your keyword. The icons on the left are previews only. You can listen to the sample by pressing the little play button and decide if the sample is of interes or not.
If it is, click the tiny sample preview icon and this will open up the sample page. The contains the sample ful details and uploader description. A full size sample view and the download icon (above and to the right of the sample view image).
As marked on the icon, RIGHT CLICK and then slect "SAVE AS" to download the sample.
You can also rate the sample and leave comments about it from this screen, if you wish.
Please note that if you use Freesound samples in any work you must attribute them, i.e., write in the credits where you got the sample and who uploaded it.
