Dear freesounders,
A couple of days ago I uploaded 3 files via the ftp applet, but only one file was approved. The name of that file is '200 pounds stepping on a glass object.aif (http://www.freesound.org/samplesViewSingle.php?id=106881), but the other two, which I uploaded at the same time, did not appear on my profile page.
The first one is named 'drunk kids in the park, laughing like crazy.aif' (the name says it all)
The second one is named 'distorted kicking bass in front of the night club [no copyright infringement intended].aif' (the frequency spectrum of the sample does not exceed 700Hz and the bass is so heavily boosted you cannot recognize the song at all...this sample was intended, for example, for the scene in the movie where the crowd is in line, waiting to go into the club with the loud music rocking the place)
Since they did not appear on my page, I was wondering about the reason why they were not approved. I would be more than grateful if somebody gave me an explanation. I mean, if there is so much farting and pissing samples around here, I don't see one single reason for not approving these files.
Any explanation is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Matt
well my guess is, that it doesnt matter if you think nobody could recognize the bass sample. Its copyright protected and freesound just wants to be sure, that nobody can sue them.
the other sample was propably not accepted, because you recorded the kids "illegaly".
Of course I could be wrong, but this is what comes into my mind.
Sometimes I have a bug - properly described files do not appear, check if you still have it on your files to describe list.

Of course, but there is absolutely nothing 'illegal' in somebody's laughter, right?

Hi, Robinhood76! This is the first time I hear there is something called 'files to describe list'. Can you please tell me where I can find it? Thank you in advance!

Dear Bram,
I have to say only one thing and that is...'sweet'
P.S. I am taking it easy, it's just that I was worried about legal and moral issues. No hate here. Read the last sentence of my tagline. I practice Buddhism, for Pete's sake!

If I ever meet you in person, the first thing we will do is go hug trees.
I will ask them for permission. But...... The are very generous.
