Hello, I just joined, so if the answer to my question is already out there, I apologize for asking (but still hope someone will direct me to the answer)
I'm a scientist and wish to take an x-y data file, that appears similar to graphic depictions of sound files, and convert it to a sound file, to hear what the data sounds like. Does anyone know an easy way to do that? The file is about 14,000 data points, which probably equates to a very short time? Anyway, help is appreciated. I hope to get a longer data set to work with, if I can "listen" to this small piece now.
I just found out about the PureData program, so that should work. I'll post the first sound file generated when I can.
audacity can open a file as data:
file -> import -> raw data
and then play it back.
