Can you visit this site without listening to at least one contributed sound? I always end up listening to things, and when I can't for some reason, I feel annoyed. I love all the random discoveries...
Thanks for mentioning this, I couldn't agree more. I usually end up listening to something completely unexpected and new and then often go off on that tangent and find a whole trove of sounds I had never thought about or paid attention to. There is much to be learned here.

yes, not unlike when you search in google or any large repository. Could be termed the 'time-waster' or 'google' syndrome
D
Of course ... otherwise it would be like going to a photo site and not looking at any of the photographs. Oddly enough, before I read your post, i had elected to browse the forums and came upon an entry about a SETI data stream that had been resampled. A link to a freesound file was included in the entry. I was compelled to have a listen ... t'was interesting! I confess ... I always listen to something.
Randall Munroe has a good comic about this 'syndrome' here:

Ha ha...that's good xD
Of course not, well the main reason why I'm here is to listen to the sounds.
Well yes I been guilty of this, some days I would show up only to check for messages/comments-my downloads
