my name is Nikita Istomin and I am a administrator for the Soundtrip.org
The idea of the project is to collect interesting sounds while you travel in the world. Previously traveller sailed a carvel and kept a diary where he described all his adventures. He couldn't do much more than painting pictures. Then photography was invented and many could save the moments to remember easier. Then cinematographic came and camcorders became readily available. Sound as a separate way to describe a trip didn't get much attention staying wrongly aside.
