Thanks.
I had not seen cage performing his compositions before.
Definitely ahead of his time.
Thanks for the link which links to even better links like the Duchamp stuff.

Any one interested in these works should also check out the work of Alvin Lucier. I recently enjoyed a concert of Mr. Lucier where he performed "I am sitting in a room" for voice and electromagnetic tape and "Nothing is real" for piano, tape recorder and amplified teapot. The teapot is used as a filter on the tape device. I am sorry not to have been in one of Mr Lucier's classes.

That's a great story hammerklavier. I'm not too familiar with Cage, but he seems like a pretty interesting person. I'm doing a little research on his music... have any suggestions to a site or two I should check out?
http://www.johncage.info/ , the "silence list mail" is really worth to join...and
about his book "SILENCE", i think HAS ALMOST EVERY THING I EVER ASKED ABOUT...
My vast ignorance has been reduced a little bit. Thanks for the link!
i was about to post some other links about, but...the first one i strongly suggest, is the abobe posted "meeting", shared by HammerKlavier.
today, i am more interested about our freesounders experiences, than the ones told by strangers.(not meaning they are not worth or true, but...)
