yes, i know what audacity is
i dont think anyone whose spent more than ten minutes on the freesound forums doesnt
anyways, yes audacity, at least in my opinion is the single best sound editor, EVER, easy to use for newbies, and yet still an extremely convenient tool for professionals. hands-down, audacity is a MUST HAVE, theres no arguing it.
i would like to note that although intuition assumes i suggest those who dont use audacity are gay/penguins, another amazing feature of the human brain is common sense, which tells us that there are fewer penguins than there are compared to everything that isnt a penguin, common sense also tells us here that because of the absurdity of my statement it was likely to have been a simple joking comment meant to be mainly ignored, although i will say that the use of the g-word was a bit distasteful on my part.
Well I'm not that gay and I've never tried Audacity,I never met Dobroide but I survive the Northern winters by sticking close with my kind.
PENGUIN POWER!!!!!
i am in no way responsible for this thread, plzzz dont taze me bro! guys stop makin a deal outta it ur gonna get me in troubles
Easy now people.....this is a friendly place.......so what have we got here?
1. There are many good sound editing programmes.
2.we all have a favorite,Audacity is the choice of many, but not all.
3.you can make good work without any of them.
4.you can make poor work with all of them.
Timtube......maybe others have heard your sounds as I have and thought they missed something...for example too loud......in this context Audacity Yes/No is missing the point. On another thread you started nemodadalus was helpful to explain about db's,headroom, clipping but I dont think you answered him. If,like me,you are new to recording then him and others here help a lot,if we listen............
You wrote how you have a ton of free time.......fine! Surely that makes DONT PANIC! good advice no?
......Hope this helps.........and thanks to you and all here for the chance to have a bit of a laugh that should hurt no one.
i think jkk was saying that the sounds are so loud they clip and sound distorted
btw why is this in the errors/bugs forum?
can't believe i wasted 2 minutes of my life reading, and 1 minute posting on, this thread. i need something better to do in the mornings...
EDIT: btw, as for the poll, I didn't vote. partly because it's not a very helpful question to ask anyway, and partly because while I do use Audacity from time to time, it's not my favourite editor.
Audacity is not my fav either, although I do use it often. But it either lacks a lot of features or I simply cannot find them. For example, it always wants to record mono, I make a stereo track and hit record, it makes an additional mono track and records on that. I have to switch between GarageBand and Audacity to simply record, edit, mix sounds.
There needs to be more and better free audio editors.
