As title says...

Do you like youtube anymore?

I did not mind it when they had minimal amount of adverts on it, Now its just bombarded with adverts i cant even listen to a playlist because every video loads an ad!!!

Extremely irritating, thus I avoid youtube nowadays and use vimeo instead. But sometimes when I want to find something specific, youtube is the only resort... unfortunately.

But hey, on the bright side at least you can skip (most of) the adverts after a few seconds.

Yeah the skip feature is okay, i have had a few 5min+ non skipable ads tho.

You should look into installing adblockplus and possibly noscript. You won't have to see those ads again, or worry about unwanted javascript/flash running.

That said, I've had them installed on FireFox for years and haven't seen a single ad since. Only thing I dislike about youtube is the comments. Would rather they be disabled by default, and you'd have to log in and also opt-in to see them. Too much stupidity.

Can youtube block me for this? or ban the account?

Absolutely not. In no way does it violate Youtube's terms and conditions.

It's none of google's business what plug-ins you have applied in your browser to block certain scripts. As long as you are not facilitating theft of media, modification of their infrastructure or malicious activity against it's users you are ok.

Hasn't happened to me or anyone else I know. However, one person I know leaves ads off to allow certain channels to collect the piddly amount of ad revenue from his view. Adds up I guess.

Nothing to worry about, a lot of people do it. Works for more than just youtube. No popups or ads anywhere.

SoundCloud can ban you for using a bot to fiddle their stats though [ see farnhamit's spam signature ]

Well, I think even youtube would ban you if you tried to up your views by scripts or bots. Messing with the stats is a no-go for almost all sites I can think of.

OP: adblock is sometimes even seen featured on google's webstore. You're safe.

Well that's cool to know, I also hate waiting for ads when I just want to see the video I may download it sometime, but since I have a school computer it has a lot of blocks and the block is called I BOSS. Do any of u guys know if the site would block me from downloading it, uhhhhhhhh stupid blocks lol

There is a way to disable the schools proxy. I'm not going to tell you though, that would be unethical.

that stinks its not like I'm going to do anything bad, I just want to go on Facebook, YouTube, and check other sound websites that way I can get some new sounds for projects

Well, I can understand the sound websites to some extent, but why do you need Facebook and Youtube at school? When I was younger we had Stickdeath and Newgrounds and would frequently lose access to our school logins because our sysadmin watched us like a hawk.

Maybe I'm old, but, you'll appreciate those things more when you get home rather than watching every vapid update all day.

Agreed. There is a reason you shouldn't be accessing recreational websites at school, it's a place to study.

No I cant enjoy them when I get home because I don't have a home computer and plus our school computers are also blocked at home and since there is a block there is very few websites I can get on 95% of websites are blocked so it makes it a bummer and sometimes I try to get on websites that the school requires and I can get on them because of the block, the block pretty much anything, I got lucky for Freesound I do not know how though

I 90% of time do study with the laptop but since we get to keep them when we graduate I think its not far that we have a block if there ours for keeps, and I'm not even for sure if they take of the block when we graduate, if they don't it will be a even bigger bummer

I was watching a 14 minute video and during the middle of it, it made me watch an ad. Stupid. And one time, I just exited full screen on a 2 minute video and it made me watch an ad. They rape you with ads. It's annoying. And I hate the way they changed the comments. Ah, I miss the old Youtube. They should just leave things alone.
