My friend Shawn Klein is the presenter of an internet radio show called "Everything but the kitchen sink".
To cut a long story short, I have had some very intereting conversations with Shawn. Recently I even managed to get him to post some sounds to Freesound in the context of dare-26 image-to-sound and databending.
As we were discussing these unusual sound creation techniques, I asked Shawn if he would play in his show 'music from unusual sources'... Shawn more than rose to the challeange and promised to play 'music from outher space' on April 9th !
Here is a sneak preview:

And here links to where to listen to the show or download as mp3

Why am I telling you this?
Well, I think listening to different sounds and music can be very inspiring. Getting away from the over-played top hits is also a refreshing thing to do. Shawn always plays many unusual and intersting tings in his show. - I recently posted to soundcloud a music piece derived from an old Japanese wax cylinder recording. Yes, you guessed it: I heard it on Shawn's program.
Anyway... I digress...
I recommend you listen to his next program. It will be... out of this world! ( pun intended)
Guys and girls,
Just another reminder on this since the program will only be on the repository for another 2-3 days. Then will be replaced by the next show.
Definetely worth a listen: contains music and sounds from the gold record aboard the Voyager probes and some interviews on how sound is helping NASA make discoveries at the edge of science.
Very intriguing, I've just downloaded the show, and will listen tomorrow at work (shhh)
Thanks for bumping this topic though, otherwise It would have escaped into oblivion.
I'll report back with my thoughts.
