On where the hell I can pursue my education after my National Service.
I'm in Singapore currently, and am going to serve my national service soon (in about a year, when my current studies finish).
I mean right now I'm doing a course on Film, and I'm going to be specialising in Sound (243 people read this and said "duh" and well, I honestly haven't a clue where to go after that.
My ideal is to eventually become a Rock Musician, so I'm practicing Bass guitar now. And I intend to learn about Audio Engineering for CD's and such. I do feel as though I want to get to know the industry from the inside out. Going the star path never really appealed to me, and I'm not that good anyway
So yes. My ideal education involves learning about Audio Engineering, Audio Post Production for the Music/Film Industry, or Music Theory and such.
My 2 areas to run after these would be Australia and Singapore.
ANY CLUES FREESOUND
im not quite sure what the question was...yet i feel COMPELLED to reply!! lol
music and film are two of the hardest industries to get anywhere in, im sure you know.
im a musician myself and my housemate works in film and television, and he has found it hard just to get where he is now (directing the live to air horse/dog racing along the qld coast).
learning bass is a great move! lol but in my opinion if you wont to be a rock star their is only one real way about it and thats the rock star road. gigging/recording your life away. its got to be all or nothing.
if you get a good sound set up you could become a producer, recording bands. on the side writing music for clubs/t.v commercials/movies. if you get good you could start specializing within mastering itself, whatever. their is a lot of dosh to be made doing it this way. trust me i know a few that have.

Haha oops. Maybe I should have made myself more clear. But thanks for the response. Sounds intriguing indeed.
You have a cool living arrangement. It's a MEDIA HOUSEHOLD hahaha.
I like the idea of getting recording up... I was thinking of opening a recording / mastering studio eventually. Lots of good music to find that way, and maybe I could session.
But yeah, I suppose that just means tons of practice if I do happen to want to get into the whole Musician thing. I'm more into the idea of Rock Musician, not Rock STAR per se... being vaguely underground is my intention, but not to the extent where I have to live on the street hiding my bass under my armpits at night. Which is why I wanted to do the other areas =/
In which case, any clues as to where I could go study music. More of recommendations than clues. Clues I can get from the internet easier than genuine recommendations.
