Hello. I am starting a cheap mic thread. I just bought a brand new Rode VideoMic Go, and it is truly fantastic for what it is. It is mainly designed for use with cameras, but I use it with my Sony ICD-LX30 SD card recorder. The Sony already has dual stereo mics built into it, but I use the Rode for whenever I want to record mono recordings on the go. It has a 3.5mm jack with an included cable, so it's very easy to use. I use it as a handheld mic, and it is fantastic. Great pickup, very sensitive, and the clarity is great. I only spent like 130 dollars Canadian on it too. Yes I am Canadian by the way, and proud of it. I highly recommend the VideoMic Go for anyone that wants a great shotgun mic on a budget. But now I wanna hear from you guys. Please tell me what cheap mics you have and why you like them. Lets start a thread to help people who are just starting out in recording
