Anyone experiencing this? I was told that if it's a big file that it will happen, so I deleted my last WAV file and reloaded as an MP3. That worked fine, but my next upload was also an MP3 and it had the squeak sound again. WTF? I never had this problem before and if it keeps up then I will stop using this site. Comments?
Hey there
Here is a relevant thread for you about this topic: https://freesound.org/forum/bug-reports-errors-and-feature-requests/42667/
I don't know who told you, but the file size shouldn't have an effect on the transcoded preview file, the resulting quality loss will be the same for any upload because the transcoding algorithm doesn't change.
Freesound preview only squeaks in some files played in certain browsers ...

Thanks for sharing that. I initially tried to find this one!

My conjecture is that after years of happy listening this squeaky problem can suddenly arise after an automatic update to the OS or browser.
