He's a pretty chill person, and he is probably doing fine. I mean \ he logged into his MySpace page on the 5th.... If you really cared you would have checked that 1st...: ) .. maybe just taking a break, but the fact that a tribute was posted in the forum for him is definite fuckin plus of how cool ERH is : )
I don't do that myspace, twitter stuff. Anyone I want to speak to I either call or go see. Just a thought.
Yeah,i feel at home surrounded by all these sounds and ERH plays a big part in that fo' sure.
Thank you to Donn for starting this post - I stumbled on it by chance and was really moved by the post and replies.
I have indeed been "away" for some time, in many senses of the word. Health problems have severely restricted my ability to make sounds and lots of other things and I have visited freesound only fleetingly in the past few months. I hope things will improve and that I will be able to upload more sonic detritus. Apologies in advance.
You know freesound was a major influence on me during some dark times. Time was when I would log on several times a day, listen to every new upload, comment on as many as I could, and join in the forum. Sadly that it is not possible at the moment. But I have met some great people and so many good things have come from this site. In no small way it has changed my life.
So I would like to thank Donn, justkiddink, LS, and cyberial. Wouldn't it be great if we could all get together with a few bottles?
Cheers mates!
I would like that!
.....and i'm pretty sure we could find space here too if you fancied it.
Thanks guys - who knows, we could do it.
Bram - you are really just across the water and I hope to do more travelling in Europe next year. I would love to buy you a beer or more to thank you for what you do here - the way I see it, it's "no Bram, no freesound." My first beer on foreign soil was in Belgium - in Ostend's sunbaked square opposite the cathedral. I can still taste it - I was on my first hitch-hiking foray into Europe in 1967 and I remember it like yesterday. When it comes to beer the Belgians have it down to a fine art.
rfhache - good to hear from you. If you are bringing the wine I WILL be there - I have 2 bottles of your beautiful wine left, waiting for just the right moment.
justkiddink - not too far away mate - and I was with you in spirit last night listening to ST play his big blues on your terrace.
Love to all
