Don Van Vliet-Captain Beefheart-has died.

His open,zen approach to rythmn and melody,his live performances....musically he changed EVERYTHING for me.
......i'm going to the loft and dig out his albums...probably start with Safe as milk.Rest in peace.

After a weekend listening through tears and elation(ok,you can come back now sweetheart)...i found this rather wonderful documentary which goes some way towards explaining the man and his music.
