Hi, im new to the forum and im starting to like it around since well seem its the percet place to Develop as a Producer. I been doing Trance for about a year and i wanna take it up a notch by Producing DnB. is quite complex and powerfull that it just called me right away. my problem is well im not used to it and i need quite some help. anyone please mind giving me some tips, techniques or examples to how to Start? i hope im not being a bother and tnx

try starting with a simple breakbeat and moving it in to double time. I'd reccomend using old soul and hip hop records, if you want that classic drum n' bass sound. other than that, it really depends on what kind of drum n' bass you are talking about. if you're looking for that more synthetic electro high energy drum n' bass, all you'll need are some good drum hits and some tight hi hat patterns to work with, and that's all you need. most people try too hard to work with the bass and snare, but the key to drum n' bass is in the hi hats, that's where the organic quality comes in. if you use too much snare and bass it can sound cluttered.

I can't help you with your request, sorry, but what did strike me from reading it, was that if you could record your own voice speaking that request, and upload it to Freesound, it could well make a valuable and unique contribution to the database here. Just a thought.

hmmm im already working on that i have my first attempt on my page, http://www.myspace.com/djkos. i'll try with that and move on as i progress tnx.
@Acclivity: i would if i had a mic, i do plan in contributing though since im constantly making new sounds
