Does anyone know of software that can search an audio archive for a particular file containing specified audio, based upon a seperate input file? A longshot I'm guessing, but something like could be very useful, particulalrly for post production purposes. I imagine it's possible very possible to do. A piece of software could for example create a fingerprint database (like Soundfoirge does using SFK files) of all the audio files in selected directory, and search them using the print of the input file. Question is, has anyone done it?
I have hundreds of WAV's that were recorded for a film, all of which were appended numeric name values by the recorder used. I also have a rickety timeline of these sounds, many of which cut off prematurely, so I gotta find the original somehow. Of course whoever constructed the timeline didn't keep a log :/.
Do i make any sense at all?
