1. what do you guys do when you have to clean up background noise? i'm trying to get subway engine sounds but it's filled with noise and chatter.

Suggestion: Upload your raw recording to Freesound, and you'll get some ideas offered and maybe one or more of us will have a go at cleaning it up, and will tell you what we did (if it comes out half decent).
We always like a challenge.

this was my recording of some high heels that people tried to clean up.
i actually don't have raw recordings of my own (i want subways from a specific city and i am about 3000 miles away)

some guy i talked to said it was "overloaded" - there is static in the middle and there's people chattering during the recording. is there any way to fix this, so far i have ripped sound portions from a variety of videos and that's all i got.
