Hi,new guy here. This seems like a very intelligent forum, with poeple knowing what they're talking about.Very rare.. anyway..
I have a question,is there any program/VST that can take a sample.. say a sax sample.. and allow the user to play it in any OCTAVE FREELY using a midi keyboard of some sort?? Or am I missing a technique? I'm using FL STUDIO XXL to try and accomplish this by the way.. but man, this has been bugging me for a while.
Just thought I'd drop by.
i can only think one bit of software/vst that allows you to do this - Kontakt. its a software sampler. in fact, come to think of it you only need to find a program that can trigger audio through midi. Assign it to say C3 and then get FL to play C4...
My feeling is you would need to start with a range of Sax samples spread over its pitch range.
Using a single pitch sample and trying to stretch or compress it by more than say half an octave, will start to sound un-natural.
