Has anyone had any direct experience with Ambisonic?
Since actual Ambisonic microphones (SoundField) are very expensive and require a Matrix decoder as well, I was more keen on what has been called: Native B-Format recording which involves almost a double Mid-Side arrangement, or a very tight Blumlein array with a Mid OMNI stuffed in between; very special post-processing to put it back together. (See: http://www.ambisonic.net) In particular check out the third link: "Daniel Courville's growing collection of Guides"
Also, check out the Tetramic link for a Coresound mic which looks wicked!
The whole format sounds like a lot of work, but if I were to use it, it would be for an orchestral recording or something similar so the extra effort would be worth it. Just curious if anyone has direct experience.
