Hi, i'm trying to create a certain synth which i've heard quite alot. I can only give two examples, one is at the end of the Audi A7 Advert and the other is in the song "Insight (A-Skillz Remix)" by Fort Knox Five.
So basically what i'm asking for is a rough guide to making it (very short and sweet no need to go to complex for me, i wouldn't want to trouble you like that) with 3 or less waveforms. (Filters etc. if your feeling really generous). Thankyou in advance.
Here are the two links of the examples.

Once again, cheers. Any suggestions are welcome
This is really easy, I don't really have the time tonight so if you reply to this post (considering the age of the thread) I will be happy to explain in depth how to create this synth sound tomorrow.
Hi there, this was a nice surprise in my inbox as it was along time ago I posted, in this time I've gained a lot more experience with synthesis, but I do remember I loved the sound on the AUDI advert, which sadly has been removed, but going by the other link which I posted, there's a lot of portamento there but that's not what I was really trying to target, I'm guessing it's a mixture of slightly detuned saw maybe square waves? I haven't actually experimented trying to get this sound as of yet, but is that the right ballpark?
Here is the A7 Advert new link, its slightly different sound but essentially the same. at around 0:54

If you dont have massive...
The concept is simple. All you have to do is layer 3 oscillators.
You will need:
- 1 mid-spec synthesiser
- 100g of patience
- 1 audio receptor, preferably ears.
- 3 oscillators
- A brain or other computational medium
- 1 Low pass filter (4 pole)
- 2 Envelopes (one for filter)
- Your right big toe
- Unison facility
- Some chorus
- Tissues are optional
Method:
Oscillator 1 and 2 should be set as a saw wave. Adjust the semitone of the second to +4. Set a unison of 3 and detune very slightly to extract the phat from the mixture (if you dont have unison facility then increase the cent pitch of the second oscillator a little to taste). The third oscillator acts as a bass spice, set the waveform to square and pitch down by one octave (12 semitones).
Now you have perepared the mixture, place the low pass filter into a mixing bowl, then add the envelope, stir vigorously until rock solid. Ideally you want the envelope set short attack, no sustain but with a medium decay and a slight release. Adjust to taste. Now do the exact same for the volume envelope.
If you can modulate, set a parameter for adjusting the cutoff, the decay AND release time simultaneously, and then bake for approximately 0.0001 seconds at 1,000,000 Kelvin. Once cooked through, use the modulation to 'open up' the sound for more euphoria where required.
Finally, turn 360 degrees to your right and clap your hands. Season with a touch of chorus and delay, this will bring out the proffesional flavour.
Feel free to experiment with ingredients to achieve the desired taste.
Enjoy...
