Getting in to Sound Making

You see I want to get into Sound Mixing and start making sounds and stuff like the ones here in the database. I'm wondering if anyway can set me up with a nice free program for beginners and few guides for that. I'm a very fast learner and a hard worker so I'm sure I'll take right to Sound Mixing and be comfortable with it within the next year. \

Well you can start with Google for the guides. I hear if you search for things you might find them. Since you've asked here though, I suppose you could go get Audacity next, which is my favourite free editor, and Kristal Audio Engine, which is my favourite free DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). You should also learn how to use VST plugins, and figure out if you can afford to get some real equipment, like monitors and amps, extra storage for sounds, etc. The other thing you might want to do is actually talk to some people who know what the heck is going on. I mean real people, as in not on the internet. Go out and find a studio at best, or even a good music retailer at worst. Good luck!
Audacity is the best thing to star with. From there on you can move to other things that suit your particular requirements.

Audacity is great yeah.
You can also get fruity loop demo and still export the sounds... just not save any projects.
