Hi y'all,
I'm looking for a solid 8-channel preamp to link into my Digi 002 so I can record drums. I'm of the understanding that I need to do this via the optical lightpipe connection, yes? Or, is there a preamp that I can use via the Firewire connection?
I've done a lot of research on this, but I've only found one preamp that specifically says "This Will Work with Pro Tools." That's the PreSonus DigiMAX LT. Has anyone used this product for this purpose? If so, would you recommend it?
And, are there any other options out there that could serve me in acquiring enough channel inputs to record drums in Pro Tools?
Thanks!
Corky
Thanks for the tips, guys. I also found that the MOTU 8pre will do the job via the 8 channel lightpipe output. The service folks at MOTU have also been pretty helpful answering my questions. Anyone out there have opinions on this company or this rig, also? THANKS! Corky
Both MOTU and Presonus have fantastic gear and, in my experience, are good companies to deal with. I've been in Pro Audio sales for about 3 years.
