Does anyone know how you can make a wav file play continuously on a sequencer that does not have an integrated loop function? I am using a couple of tracker programs, and I have some string samples that I would like to play continuously while the when the note is selected without having to start the note over ever few bars.
I am trying to make my string sample play like a sythesizer does, continuously while the note is held on the keyboard. Can it be done. and what do I have to do to do it?
what? a sequencer without a loop function..does this even exist?
how about just making multiple copies of the file and then copying them so they form a few mins in length? I don't use tracker stuff so I can't answer your question other than the way I can see it.
I can make the several copies of a file, and do all that. What I am wanting to know is if I can take a wav file and make it play like a vst instrument, to where it does not end after I hold the key down for a few seconds.
I see. I just wondered if the was a way to edit your wav so that it is always recognized as a loop when you loaded it into a sampler? I do apreciate your input, and thank you very much.
yes you can do this. but it depends on the stuff youre using. again I don't work that way so I can't really point you in the right direction but hey i'm sure someone on here could. but you can't do it in a sequencer that's for sure. you'd need a program (sampler) to do this.
I use an outdated/discontinued sample editor program called Spark. It is able to create wav/aif files with loop points assigned. This message is not very helpful because you can't get the program any more and it was only for Mac. But just wanted to point out that there are programs that can do that. And if you can't find one I can possibly do it for you.
you need a sampler instrument (hardware or software).

this one used to be commercial and just now has been released for free. take a look at kvraudio.com for more
you'll need a vst-capable sequencer or host.
I've found a few posted on these websites.

Awesome. So it can be done. So what I need is a wav editor that can add loop points to a small sample and export the sound as a wav that will be recognized with loop points. The sequencer I am refering to is the nitro tracker for the nintendo DS. It does recognize loop points in wav files, I just cant seem to make a wav file with the loop points in it with my current software. I thank you all for helping me out with this. You all are lifesavers.
Hot diggity dog. I found the program I needed and it was free free free. Check it out if you all want.

Thank you all so much for your help.
Thanks for the link williew705. I've used wavosaur before. It's been pretty useful wav editor for me.
