Hi, does anybody know of software (preferably FREE and for Mac UB) to perform automatic audio morphing?
My only search result so far has been Prosoniq's Morph - 150€!
Thanks
Angel
Izotope's Spectron plug-in does a wonderful job of morphing and mangling sounds. Not too pricey.
you can try SMSTools from
but I warn you it is rather academic and has a LOT of options you can tweak with strange names.
so, it ain't particularly user friendly

Thanks for the replies gezortenplotz and Bram!
Bram, is that the software that Mr Serra has used for the samples he has uploaded on Freesound?
DAMNIT, all I have to say instead of the 3 paragraphs I just lost are,
"do not use the quote button to insert a quote into the text you just spent 5 minutes typing"
To summarize:
1. No help file in that software, Bram, any idea on how to select the 2nd sound to morph too? I found nothing resembling anything close to selecting another sound to morph to in any of the screens and the website.
2. Shit, now I am typing this all again... What is the difference between this process and vocoding or cross fading?
The original post was much better. WHO DESIGNED LAPTOPS with the mouse pad in front of the keyboard? Are they kidding? What a fundamental design flaw, could easily have put it in front of number keys to keep the cursor in one spot, this has nothing to do with topic but it PISSES me off severly.
3. Analog X has a neat vocoder freeware program that allows you to select carrier and source files, cool edit also has a mixpaste feature that allows you to vocode a wav file. I am curious if this program can achieve similar results.
If anyone knows how to make the above mentioned program work, let me know.
Also (I would quote the post but last time it was disastrous) the music morpher software seems to have nothing to do with what we are talking about here unless there is another. It's free but it's more of a song mastering program for karaoke and other silliness.
