I'm just having some fun with "Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch", and I'm amazed of what and how it can do regarding time stretching (without pitch affection). 600 times stretch? No problem. But even under closer-to-live circumstances (just a few times stretching) it gives very clear sonic pictures, after some minor tuning of course (tonal versus noise, adding sub/octaves). Great app for making long pads and backgrounds. Great if you have let say 2 seconds of interesting sound and want to have 30 minutes of that sounding too. May become one of my favourite gadgets/tools. And what's yours?

I like GlissEQ by Voxengo for extreme EQ experiments. The detailed, adjustable spectrum, graphic overlays, and precise adjustments make notch filtering more fun than it's ever been.

Is it comparable to Cool Edit (aka Adobe Audition ver. 3.0 or lower) FFT filter?

I still use Adobe Audition 1.5 and am hardcore Cool Edit all the way. It doesn't operate like those spline FFT EQs with 50+ bands, but is more like a regular parametric EQ and more practical in use. Although I love those spline EQs as well, especially the ones that match curves so you can match a doorbell to a voice sound and other wacky stuff. Voxengo makes both types (and expensively), but there are similar plugins (Fabfilter is getting a lot of hype) and probably great freeware options.
