I'm making a short film and my actors voice's could be better. Is there a way to crisp it up? Make it sound more like a real movie?
Most of it depends on how well is the voice recorded and how clean is it.
Other than that, there is EQ at your hands, so use it. Cut the mud, bring up the presence. Just remember you're bringing the noise up too. If it is fine, just sibilance is over the top, use de-esser.
Be carefull, you can do more harm than good if you don't know what you're doing.
