So I wanna make techno club music as a hobby. What are some good starter programs for someone who's broke like myself?
So far all I could find was a Deckadance Demo which makes it easy to use. Then I have Madtracker 2 which is free but hard as hell to use. Any tips? Thanks fellas.
Well I made a phonecall to a good friend of mine who is into this kinda stuff and he has given me Deckadance 1.3. The newest edition. Can someone please inform me on how I make beats or make something repeat? I have sample beats and I have no clue on how to keep the music repeating instead of having it play for 5 or 6 seconds.
Audacity's free and you record stuff on to it. i'm not too experienced in making techno as i just recently started but if you have a little money to spend you can get FL studio (i'd suggest downloading the demo before deciding on that though) which is what i've used. FL comes with it's own sounds when you download it so you can start out immediately. My buddy who wants to make techno with me told me he uses youtube downloader to get sounds and uses virtual-dj <---- which you can also download a demo for.
also i was referred to http://www.d16.pl/index.php?menu=7
i've never used deckadance but i'd assume you can save the songs....if that's the case you can use fl studio to make a whole song, using the sounds you made on deckadance.
FL Studio or Sony ADIC Pro would work well and both can be found online to purchase or "obtain without purchasing." Not that I would advocate getting programs illegally but if YOU really wanted to there are ways, lets be honest with the beginner.

I would recommend buying FL Studio online if you can save the $$$ for it. Starts at $99 for 'FL Studio Fruity Edition' with 'Producer edition' at $199.
Nice thing about FL Studio is you get lifetime free updates and you can upgrade from one edition to the next.
Download the demo and try it out that allows you to save your songs to mp3 or wav format, but not save the project, so it's fully functional apart from saving and will give you a taste of what Producer edition can do.

Fruity loops is probably what you're looking for, it'll be a bit daunting at first though. Plus it costs some money...
I used to use Fruity loops a lot, but ever since I started using Nuendo years ago I haven't touched it.
Check out plug-ins like Nexus, it's awesome at that stuff. But again, pricey. There are lots of free VST synths out there that you can use with Fruity Loops that will do similar tricks.
