Well, I was thinking more of some interesting uses for them that aren't usually achieved with typical mics. Unfortunately I can't actually give them up because I will probably use them often for work. But I like to experiment with things, but I just can't think of anything.

My guess is, that they pick up quiet sounds, without overloading loudness of the sonic surrounding? If so, they are good in picking up details?
You can tape your mics vertically to buildings/trees etc. I've used both PZM's and miniature omni's that way and liked the results. You will need to augment the bass using an EQ if the surface isn't big enough.
