Hello all!
Here is my situation. I am in charge of recording sounds for an upcoming paintball game. Here's the rub, I have no way to record the sounds. What I need, is a portable way to record the sounds. So, like a recorder and mic. Paintball sounds can be very sharp sometimes, and I have a very wide range of sounds to gather. Footsteps, ambient sounds, paintball guns firing, etc. So, I need a cheap, easy way to gather these sounds, and it won't be in a studio. I know it seems like a tall order, and we can't go over 200$ for the equipment, so its very difficult and I am confused. So, help would be appreciated.
Here is what I need:
Portable.
Good quality (Sound wise).
Cheap.
Able to record both loud, and quieter sounds, need good range(As in distance).
Thanks so much!

This might be your best bet. I've not used this particular recorder before, but I have used the zoom H4, which is slightly more expensive, but made up of pretty much the same stuff. Excellent crisp sound, nice and transparent, and I'd expect this to be the same. I'd be surprised if you can find anything of this quality cheaper...
Good luck anyhow!
