Hi there freesounders. I made a little web app that allows you to input audio properties for uncompressed PCM audio or MP3 audio and then either calculate the amount of space required given an amount of time or the amount of time that a given amount of space will allow. The question comes up enough from our customers during support at Sound Devices, that we thought this might be helpful (For them and us, considering it's a bit tough to make these calculations in our head!). So enjoy the little tool and let me know if you find any bugs (nic_stage@sounddevices.com).

(The DVD-RAM thing might seem a bit specific and quirky, but a lot of the sound people who use our products for film/tv use this media a lot because post-production requests it for dailies.)
Excellent, I am sure many people will find this very useful. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for the heads-up, nice tool. I use a MixPre when I need pristine silence in my field-recordings, you guys make some excellent, well thought out kit.
EDIT: Ha! I detect some 'theater' involved in your calculator (re the 'calculating' animation), either that or your server is running slower than a PDP8

digifishmusicDefinitely some theater there (you caught me); the server that our site is on is actually pretty fast.. There is a one second delay on the calculation in order to make up for the jitters that occurred when the answer was output on each keyup. I figured I'd throw an animation in there for fun...

I don't know how many people use iPhones/pods, but I'd recently optimized the layout for those devices. Check the link out with your iPhone/pod and notice the completely different layout.
