Are there micro/nano capsules with 8-figure (bi-directional) pattern? I mean really small.
maybe this one? http://www.oktava-online.com/mk012-8.htm
Not sure. The experimental idea is to use a pair of such as an in-ear setup (like OKM's) with some modification on one (inner) side.
Mabey use some Primo EM172's. Cheep and omni, but build in useful as figure. 8?

As for figure 8, I'm after reading some articles on mic setups, and during the lecture it came to me, that something called blumlein stereo (xy made of 2 8's instead of cardios) is being referred as something good for stereo imagining and positioning. I never saw such mics however in bunaural setups.
Now - what occured to me some time ago, is that - our ear membranes seem to be also "bi-directional", and on the rear side, there is something interesting going on. Zuccarelli called it "inaudible sound", I say this is filtering that comes from bone structures (cochlea?) But at that time, I overlooked these 8-fig capsules.
So, the idea is, to see first if 8-fig would be better in some way than omnis/cardios for binaural setup, and then - to mount on rear sides a sort of mechanical filter (like a little tooth or cone) with 2-directional assymetry in regards to rear side of the membrane. I'm not sure yet what kind of material, but the concept is to get different sound reception via such filtering on both - vertical axis (vertical perception vs sound moving away) and horizontal axis (front/rear issue).
As for silicone ears, I haven't played yet with them yet. Quality (sound quality)? Price?
I'd like to avoid having dummy head. I saw recently something called mitra 3d mic pro, and they did something simple, that offers pretty nice results. On the other hand, I also saw/heard 3dio and... wasn't impressed (not sure if this was a matter of mics or mic placement or ear quality).
