Hi folks!
Could you please advice me, how to reach the best quality with recording streed noises (heavy traffic and humans passing by?) I want to play it later in a loop loudly in a big room to simulate streed environment in wide stereo. I have a recorder Roland Ediroll r-09hr. As it seems to meit records really clean sound but is the internal microphone sensitive enough to catch such a rich noise? Will be the stereo effect wide enough?
I often record soundscapes, nature or citysounds alike.
I always use my Zoom H1 recorder with great results.
But i don't know about the recording quality of your recorder.
If you are having trouble with the recording i am willing to record it for you.
Hi Sander,
I have received my Tascam DR 05 recently and have been through a couple of tests with it including soundscapes in urban environments.
I have noticed a light hiss noise on my recordings; Is it something usual with field recordings that I need to get rid off with an audio software such as audacity?
Thanks for your help.
I use a Zoom H5 in multi mode and not only do I use xy stereo I plug in my Audio Technica shotgun mic(set at 80hz drop off). With this setup i can have my peak stereo recording and pic up individual sounds that I want to come to the front...My amps are set at the lowest setting possible to avoid hum but not so low that I have you crank up the amplify in post(Audacity)...with my shotgun set at drop off I can eliminate most of the muddy end of the sound but I find I still have a slight hum coming from my amps which I fix in post
to the person questioning the hum... only set your amp to what you need to get a clear sound
