Hey all, I'm hoping to record a comedy improv radio show in the coming months. The plan was to have each of the five performers miced up, as well as a couple of ambient mics for audience reaction.
The whole thing was to go into a laptop but with each input recording as a separate WAV so that I could edit the levels in post. However, I've lost my sound tech guy. I can still do the editing but I have literally no clue how to send 6 or 7 inputs simultaneously into a computer and have each record as a separate track.
Is this easy? Is it possible?
Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for your advice!
Hi,
Yes it is possible.
You'll need a soundcard with 7 inputs with preamplifier, and a software such as Audacity.
If you don't know anything about sound and recording, better to find someone that can assist you.
You should be careful with the gain of each microphone preamps in order to get a proper sound.
