Hi. I have a relatively entry level recorder and have been wondering how best to really get into the habit of recording more often. Since it would seemingly come across as creepy to try and apply the photography "just bring your camera with you wherever you go" logic to sound recording, I've had trouble really doing much more than spur of the moment stuff.
To put it simply, I don't record often enough for it to come to mind whenever I find a sound worth recording.
How do you guys either break in a new mic or get rid of rust as far as recording goes? Alternatively, where did you get your start?
Edit: as an aside I am picking a local fireworks show on the 4th to start some recording with.
